We never use pesticides or herbicides on our land. We do not use hormones or antibiotics as food additives. We do feed locally grown hay (not sprayed with herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizer) and locally purchased grains (Unifeed).

THE BREED:   Katahdins are a medium sized, quiet, lean breed of meat sheep, that shed their hair in the spring requiring no shearing or tail-docking, and are naturally more parasite tolerant than other sheep breeds. Please click here to find out about "The History of Katahdins".

In this day and age everyone is looking for organic meat, including organic lamb. Organic lamb has been fed organic food. Our market lambs are as close to organic lamb as we can get, though we are in the process of certifying our lamb and Certified Organic Lamb. We are in the process of finding an Certified Organic grain supplier, which would make our naturally raised Alberta lamb, organic lamb. We would then get our farm and lambs Certified Organic. Our hay is organic, though not certified organic yet.
